Features

Everything a kart racer needs, tuned to feel right

Custom arcade vehicle physics, made for kart racers instead of real cars.

Polished drift mechanics

Hop, steer, and drift on any surface. Drifting charges your boost automatically and feels exactly like you expect from the best kart racers.

Tune the drift

  • 30 FPS
  • 60 FPS
  • 144 FPS
  • 240 FPS

Framerate independent physics

Whether you're running at 30 or 240 FPS, the physics stay consistent. Springs, timers, and drift behavior remain consistent thanks to asynchronous physics.

How async physics works

Elaborate camera system

The camera locks into drifts perfectly and stays smooth even over rough ground. No shaking, no lag, just satisfying visuals that follow every turn.

Assets included

A fully rigged and procedurally animated skeletal mesh is included, with textures. Game ready drifting particles are included as well, so you are good to go!

C++ + Blueprint

Flexible and developer friendly

Built in C++ with a clear architecture and a child Blueprint class for easy extension. All gameplay behavior, input handling, and visual effects are cleanly separated and highly customizable. Easily recreate any arcade racing feel.

Multiplayer Coming in 1.1

Fully replicated multiplayer, no C++ needed

Server-authoritative multiplayer with client-side prediction, built on Unreal's own Chaos networked physics, the system Epic uses for its vehicles. It works in a Blueprint-only project.

A free update for everyone who owns the plugin, on Unreal Engine 5.7. No need to wait: buy now, get 1.1 when it ships.

Fully replicated Server authoritative Client predicted
  • Proper replication

The server simulates every kart, and its result is final. Each kart is replicated to every player and runs the same simulation there, with the inputs its player sends through the server.

  • Proper prediction

Client-side prediction drives your kart from your own input, so there is no input lag. If the server disagrees, the kart is rewound and replayed with its drift and boost state, and the correction is smoothed.

  • Blueprint ready

No C++ and no netcode for the kart. Setup is two Project Settings and one line in DefaultEngine.ini, and the example project already has all three.

  • Hard to cheat

Server-authoritative by design. Players send only their input, and the server checks every value. A modified client cannot teleport its kart, move other players' karts or push values past the server's limits.

Predicted for both karts Tunable arcade bump

Perfectly predicted bumps

Kart-to-kart contact is predicted for both karts, so the kart you hit reacts on your screen too. The arcade bump is designed, not left to chance: tune the push, the speed loss and a weight class for each kart.

Tune the bump

Ready-to-use replicated BP nodes

Set Boost and the Kart Intents do their own networking, so a boost pad or an item needs no replication code. Your own Blueprint features follow two simple rules:

  • Something happens to a kart, like a boost pad or an item hit: run it on the server, behind Switch Has Authority.
  • The player does something, like a button press: run it on the owning client, behind Is Locally Controlled.

FAQ

Good to know

Anything else? Ask on Discord before you buy.
Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. The free demo is a Windows build: download it, unzip it and drive the kart yourself. You do not need Unreal Engine for it. Download the free demo

What is async physics, and why does it matter?

Code that pushes a physics object usually runs once per rendered frame, so a kart drives differently at 30 FPS than at 144 FPS: springs, drift timers and forces all depend on the frame time. This plugin uses async physics (Tick Physics Async) instead. The physics run on their own thread at a fixed 60 Hz, and every force, spring and drift timer is applied in that fixed step. So the kart feels the same on a slow laptop and on a 240 Hz gaming PC, and the drift you tune is the drift your players get. The same fixed step is also what Unreal's networked physics, and with it the multiplayer of version 1.1, builds on. The async physics tick, explained

Do I need to know C++?

No. The kart comes as a ready Blueprint, BP_KartPawn, and every setting lives in the details panel. The C++ source is included if you want to go deeper.

How is this different from Chaos Vehicles?

Chaos Vehicles simulate a real car, with engine, gears and tire friction, so an arcade drift takes a lot of tuning to fake. This plugin does not use them. It is custom arcade vehicle physics made for kart racers: hop into a drift, charge the boost stages and tune every force in the details panel. Arcade kart physics vs Chaos Vehicles, side by side

Can I use my own kart model?

Yes. The physics run on a simple collision body; the kart you see is a separate skeletal mesh on top of it, so you can swap in your own model. The docs walk you through it. Using your own kart model

Does it support multiplayer?

Multiplayer is coming in 1.1, a free update for owners on Unreal Engine 5.7. It is server-authoritative with client prediction, built on Chaos networked physics, and the kart needs no replication code.

Which Unreal Engine versions are supported?

Unreal Engine 5.5 to 5.7. The Fab page always shows the current list.

Does it work with a gamepad?

Yes. Input uses Enhanced Input, with keyboard and gamepad set up out of the box.

Does it work with a top-down or isometric camera?

Yes. The drifting uses no camera information at all. Physics and visuals are kept separate, so you can replace or remove the included camera and still have a fully working kart.

Is the race track included?

Yes. The handcrafted desert circuit with spline roads and offroad sections comes with the example project, a free download for owners that runs once the plugin is installed to your engine. With the kart, camera and project settings ready, it works as a racing game template.
